West Central Scotland has just experienced the worst cold snap, coupled with blizzards, for many years. My little town, Airdrie, has seldom looked lovelier. It was a bit of a struggle to get to work - but Gore-Tex socks, Wellington boots and many layers of clothes enabled me to withstand the cold. Friends in tropical places - see what you're missing!
