Alaska Marine Highway

Bellingham-Wragnell aboard the MV Columbia - flagship of the fleet - built in 1974:

The cocktail bar and lounge were totally groovy:

Columbia at Wragnell, heading North, while the Taku and Malaspina are South bound:

The sights of Wragnell:

An Alaskan supermarket with strange ceiling decorations and the local saloon (it looked quite rough):

The Taku - our transport from Wragnell to Ketchikan:

I ate a lot of grilled salmon on this trip. Incidentally, the food presentation was always very nostalgic - big platters with all of the ingredients spread out to cover the largest area and garnished with salad:

The Matanuska arrives in evening light:

Next stop Prince Rupert in Canada - where the motel room had an en suite kitchenette in turquoise:

Signs in Prince Rupert:

The City Hall was in 'Native American' Art Deco (above).
