The Adam Smith Building at Glasgow University

This afternoon, it was necessary to consult with a colleague at Glasgow University. Therefore, I took a walk there from my place of employment, The Glasgow School of Art, via Park Circus and Kelvingrove Park. Park Circus contains Glasgow City Council's Marriage Registry Suite, where a couple were arriving in two eye-catching cars - a Barbie pink stretched Hummer and a stretched limousine with historicist decorative embellishments.

And so to Glasgow University's Adam Smith Building (Harvey, Scott & Associates, 1967), a fine example of Caledonian Brutalism - ambitious and banal in equal measure. Alas, its windows have not been cleaned for many years and so the view from within is somewhat obscured.
